A study conducted by researchers at the University of Arizona in the United States revealed that women's desks and computers contain significantly higher levels of germs than men's.
The study indicated that these levels are, on average, three to four times higher in women's offices than in men's.
As for men's wallets, the study found them to be the most germ-ridden places.
Professor Charles Gerba, head of the research team, said that women's habit of keeping food or snacks in their desk drawers could explain the higher germ count in their offices.
He also noted that they often keep cosmetics in their desks, which further increases the germ count and explains the difference between women's and men's offices.
However, experts stated that the issue is not the mere presence of bacteria, but rather the type of bacteria present.
