Russian nutritionist Dr. Yelena Sviridova announced that to cleanse the body of toxins, one must give up pastries, sweets, and fast food.
In an interview with the newspaper Izvestia, the expert revealed how to help the body cleanse itself and provided helpful recipes.
She explained, "If a person is experiencing skin irritation, swelling, chronic fatigue, and poor sleep, detoxification may be the solution. This means carefully cleansing the body of toxins—there are no mono-diets where only one food is chosen or carbohydrates are completely eliminated. However, one must still give up flour, sweets, fast food, alcohol, and soft drinks. For three days, one should follow a healthy diet, after which they will feel noticeable and positive changes in their condition."
According to her, vegetable and fruit juices are just as nutritious as regular snacks or sweets, but their benefits are even greater.
She says, "First, chop the carrots and apples, then blend them together. Add orange juice to the mixture and blend again to create an excellent drink that provides a boost of energy and enjoyment throughout the day. Carrots also improve eyesight."
Creamy tomato soup can also help cleanse the body of toxins. Tomatoes are rich in vitamins and minerals that strengthen the immune system, and their lycopene content enhances the skin's protective properties and may help prevent cancer development.
She explains, "To prepare the soup, boil the tomatoes and red peppers, then chop them into large pieces. Blend them and add the spices. Reheat the soup and serve it with whole-grain bread. This dish is light and won't weigh you down at all, yet it provides a feeling of fullness, keeping you satisfied for a long time."
According to the expert, herbal tea is an effective detoxifying treatment. She advises against using flavored tea bags and recommends using loose-leaf herbs instead.
She says, "Herbal blends help detoxify the body quickly. You'll feel the effects of chamomile, oregano, or peppermint tea very quickly. These teas have a calming effect after a long day. They also help curb hunger and improve metabolism."
The expert recommends eating salads containing avocado to help detoxify the body. For example, a salad of tomatoes, arugula, and avocado. Arugula cleanses the taste receptors, and tomatoes and avocado help lower cholesterol levels and support heart health.
She adds, "Drink 1.5-2 liters of water while on a detox diet. Of course, this isn't easy, especially when the body needs complete meals, not salads and soups. But the body will easily adjust."
