Benefits of fenugreek hair mask for strengthening hair

Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein, iron, and vitamins, which are believed to help prevent both hair loss and dandruff. Soaking the seeds and making a paste, or grinding them into a powder, allows you to mix them into hair masks to help treat these conditions, as well as enhance your hair's shine and softness. These masks make it easy to achieve smoother hair, and you only need fenugreek seeds or powder and other ingredients you may already have in your kitchen.

How to Prepare a Fenugreek Hair Mask for Brittle Hair

Grind the fenugreek seeds for the mask. You will need fenugreek seed powder. Place 2 tablespoons (22 grams) of seeds in a coffee grinder and grind them into a fine powder.

You can find fenugreek seeds in many grocery stores, but if your local store doesn't carry them, you can visit an Indian grocery store, an organic grocery store, or a health food store. You can also purchase the seeds from online retailers.

If you don't have a coffee grinder, you can use a food processor or blender to grind the seeds. You can also find fenugreek seed powder at a grocery store. However, you'll get better results if you grind fresh seeds for your hair mask.

Mix the fenugreek seed powder with the oil. Add the fenugreek seeds and 1 tablespoon (13 grams) of coconut oil to a small bowl. Stir the ingredients well with a spoon until they are fully combined. You can substitute olive or argan oil for coconut oil if you prefer.

Apply the mask to your hair and leave it on for several minutes. Once the mask is mixed, use your hands to carefully work it through your hair, paying special attention to the finer areas. Allow the mask to dry for about 10 minutes.

You can warm the mask before applying it to help it penetrate your hair more easily. Mix the ingredients in a glass container, measure the cup, and place the container in a bowl of warm or hot water for a few minutes to warm it gently. You can also put on a shower cap or plastic wrap over your head with the mask to generate some heat.

After that, rinse the mask out and wash your hair as usual. After 10 minutes, rinse the mask out with warm water and use a mild shampoo to wash your hair as you normally would.

Fenugreek and Yogurt Mask

You can combine fenugreek seed powder, yogurt, and oil by adding 1 tablespoon (11 grams) of fenugreek seed powder, 5-6 tablespoons (90-108 grams) of plain yogurt, and 1-2 tablespoons (15-30 ml) of olive or argan oil. Mix the ingredients well with a spoon to ensure they are thoroughly combined.

You can grind your own fenugreek seeds. For a full-fat mask, yogurt usually works best, delivering protein to the hair to help strengthen it and repair damage. Add more yogurt and oil if you have long, thick hair.

This mixture is allowed to sit for several hours. Once the ingredients are combined, cover your hair with a cap or plastic wrap and let it sit for 2 to 3 hours to allow the mask to penetrate.

If the mask is too thick, you can add up to a quarter cup (59 ml) of distilled water until it thins out.

To make the mask easier to apply to your hair and scalp, let it sit for a few hours. Apply the mask to your hair and scalp and let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes.

It's not necessary to cover your head to prevent the mask from dripping; however, wearing a shower cap or plastic wrap can help warm the mask so your hair absorbs it more easily.

Then, wash your hair as usual. When it's time to remove the mask, rinse your hair with warm water and use your usual shampoo and conditioner. Let your hair air dry.

Fenugreek and Lemon for Dandruff: Soak fenugreek seeds in water. Fill a cup or bowl with water and add a handful of fenugreek seeds. Let them soak for six hours, or overnight.

Then, make a paste from the seeds by placing them in a seed or coffee grinder and grinding them until a coarse paste forms. If you don't have a seed or coffee grinder, you can use a blender.

Mix the fenugreek paste with lemon juice. Add the fenugreek paste you made to a bowl along with 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of lemon juice and stir with a spoon until the ingredients are fully combined. For best results, use freshly squeezed lemon juice; however, you can use bottled lemon juice as long as it is pure.

Apply the mask to your scalp. Once the mask is mixed, gently smooth it over your scalp, paying particular attention to areas prone to dandruff. Leave it on for 10 to 30 minutes. Lemon juice can dry out your hair, so if your hair is very dry, only leave the mask on for 10 minutes.

Rinse off the mask and wash your hair. When you are ready to remove the mask, wash it with warm water and use your usual shampoo and conditioner to wash your hair as usual. Then use the mask once a week to help control dandruff.
